My DH and I love tapioca pudding, and I would like ideas on different flavors to add. I saw a recipe in which you use coconut milk instead of plain milk, but I think this would add a lot of calories. May try it though, because we love coconut flavor.Any flavors that anyone has tried and liked?

It used to be possible to buy flavored tapioca pudding mix, and my 2 favorites were orange and chocolate.
Not so sure using coconut milk would add all that many calories, and it sounds yummy to me, especially with a drop or two of coconut extract!

Hi - I used to love orange tapioca pudding. The last time I made tapioca pudding I added a little orange extract. It was good!

I'll check on the coconut milk, and the extract is a good idea! Also could throw in some shredded coconut. The orange sound good, too, I'll look at the store and see if they sell flavored orange, but I don't recall seeing it before. Thanks ladies!

When buying tapioca pudding in the store, I really enjoy the Cozy Shack brand.

nanny24,
I did a google search for cakes, pies and puddings using tapioca. Some of the flavoring ingredients used in these desserts included mango, maple syrup, bananas, and peaches. You, if you dare, may want to experiment with flavoring your tapioca pudding with some of these. To this list, I think rum extract, banana extract or ginger granules might make a tasty plain tapioca pudding even better.
Some of the desserts I googled were: Coconut Mango Tapioca Pudding, Maple Tapioca Pudding, Warm Tapioca Pudding with Banana and Coconut Milk, and Peach and Tapioca Pie with Mix-in Pie Plate Crust (I will be making this peach pie soon because of the easy preparation and I love peaches).

Many years ago you could buy chocolate Tapioca to make. It was delicious.
I would add chocolate to it.

I love lemon curd and tapioca, so whenever I make lemon curd, I also make tapioca. Prior to placing the tapioca into the frig, I fold in 1/4 c. lemon curd and the finely grated zest of 1/2 lemon. We are partial to lemon and the quarter cup of curd doesn't break the calorie bank. (Also, I don't make the instant tapioca, preferring the old fashioned kind; and, love to whip egg whites (2) and fold them in for added lightness.)
Yes, this is more work, but the final product is so worth it.

I still buy tapioca and cook it from scratch. Mostly a chilly weather treat.
I flavor it with a bit of cinnamon sugar, a bit of vanilla, a touch of real maple syrup or brown sugar and cinnamon. I do the same when I make rice pudding.
