Last week I did grocery shopping and dutifully purchased several ingredients for a special recipe I wanted to make. Now I'm sitting here with my food items and can't for the life of me remember what I'm supposed to make.

No - can't say it has.  Just a senior moment.  Pour a glass of wine - sit back - relax and it will come to you. Works for me!

Not yet, but I purchase ingredients for recipes that I never get around to making.

Yes!! I  bought my string cheese today for what I thought was a pasta salad I saw on these forums and now I cannot find the recipe. Where or where did I see the recipe???

@Kachina624, you are NOT alone!  I always have to print the recipe I’m thinking I may want to make, and, if I haven’t in a short time frame, that recipe goes into a file that is “waiting” to be added to my formal recipe files.  I have a stupid system but every once in a while I clean it out and start the cycle again.  If I really want to make the recipe, I leave it out on my desk, although I must confess there can be a pile of those too!  YIKES,

BTW, some of the best recipes I’ve bought for in advance and saved the recipes were those I made on a whim. A Food and Wine recipe for Chicken Tkka Masala comes to mind.  Not low fat by any means but fabulous with naan bread or Basmati rice.

Thank you for the reply on the recipe for the string cheese. Now I can make it.

So glad I'm not the only one who does this. I have a lot of good intentions when it comes to cooking! LOL!~

I do it all the time. Or I can't remember which cookbook the recipe is in.
