For kids I serve sliced fruit with a dip made by mixing cream cheese and marshmallow cream.
Adults seem to like it too.

I was just at my SIL's for a birthday party. Kid friendly appetizers that she made were PB&J on crackers. She used ritz. She only used one ritz but you can make a sandwich. The kids loved them. She also made ham and cheese squares. She lightly toasted bread (some she didn't) layered ham and cheese. Some had tomato and lettuce. Some had strawberry jelly. Some had mustard. Some had French dressing. She cut the bread into squares. Kids loved those as well.

My kids always enjoyed "pigs in blankets". You take the mini hot dogs and wrap them in crescent roll dough (cut the dough accordingly). Bake them maybe 8-10 mins. until lightly browned. Then I'd serve them with various dipping sauces...ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce. Kids love dipping! These can be served warm or at room temp.

There is also an easy cold appetizer that kids can eat and that they can also get involved in making called, "Ants on a log."
This involves peanut butter, for anyone that has peanut allergies.
You need creamy/smooth peanut butter, some celery stalks, and some dark raisins.
You cut the celery stalks into smaller slices, and spread the peanut butter on them, and then put about four raisins on top of each slice to look like ants crawling on top. ![]()

One of the best (and easiest) appetizers I ever had was when a friend spread softened cream cheese on either salami or thicker sliced ham slices. She rolled them up and then cut them into slices and served them on a toothpick. They were gone in minutes!

When my kids were little and I wanted to serve an appetizer that required a toothpick I would always use a small pretzel stick instead. Safe and edible. To this day they ask if I will use pretzels instead of toothpicks even on adult taste appetizers.

Cheesecake stuffed strawberries are good and kids love them. You can even use the cool whip brand pre-made cheesecake filling. Regular or chocolate.
