I purchased the set of these books on HSN for $17.99. Have made many of the recipes and everyone has come out tasty. Granted "dump" is a poor choice of words but the recipes are quick and easy and you don't need any special ingredients. Also, have given books as gifts. I would recommend these to anyone.

To me the "dump dinners" are basically like "skillet meals". I don't know what the big deal of calling anything "dump". I don't associate it with anything like what people are saying on this thread.

I make a 1/2 dump cake for my mom alot. The regular size is too much for her(it spoils).

I measure 1 cup of the cake mix

1-2 cans drained peaches, sprinkle with sugar & cinnamon.

I leave out the crushed pineapple.

Just viewed the other shopping channel (HSN) and they featured the books the info-mercial sells. The vendor made a meal and a dessert. Looks like if you want something tasty in a single baking dish, it's the way to go. You can use frozen veggies/packaged veggies, canned or frozen fruit, etc. I will have to try a dish or two.

I dumped the Dump Books. I sent them right back to HSN.

Most of them look like regular recipes to me.

I'm a good cook and baker but just don't like the mess and have tasted and made many dump cakes and meals that were absolutely delicious! Just because you don't slave in the kitchen all day doesn't make them any less tasty!!
