Thank you everyone for your advice. She doesn't really eat bacon that's why she ate Bacos. I never thought to look for them with the salad dressings, I will try that. Eggs have gotten a bad rap and I think I read they are no longer bad for you. She is a diabetic and I gave her sugar free Boost. I stopped because it didn't agree with her.

just say'in, sometimes, it's just not about Sat fats anymore- it's just about nourishment and comfort...I understand you want to keep her for as long as possible, but if she has no kidney issues or congestive heart failure, I would give her the real deal....

I get the Walmart brand in a pouch on the crouton aisle for about $2.00.  Most in the pack are soft but the Baco's are hard.

Dannon makes a protein smoothie. It has 12 g. of protein. Tastes great. It is in the dairy case next to the yogurt.

I was in the supermarket today and was able to buy Bacos! They were in the aisle with the croutons and dressings. They come in bits or chips but they both looked the same to me.

Ensure tastes horrible, something with the after taste just didn't do it for me. If you find a smoothie she likes, maybe freeze it and it would be like an ice cream. Eggs are a wonderful source of protein especially for the elderly, very easy to chew than meat. Guess you got to play around and find what she likes & what has alot of protein.

Bacos are meat free and soy based, so if anyone has issues with soy they might need to know this before eating Bacos.

Loved those on a baked potato.   I drink Premier Protein drinks. It is in a juice box style with a twist cap and quite tasty . 130 calories,2g sugars,29-30g protein are great numbers. I have 60g of protein daily. What about egg salad, devilled eggs, egg drop soup, etc?

I never liked the smell of Bacos.

When I would go to the salad bar at the HS I taught in, they would be in the salad dressing.

I do like the natural bacon bits.
