Edamame Hummus
1 package (16 ounces) frozen shelled edamame, cooked according to package directions and cooled completely
1/2 cup coarsely chopped green onions
1/2 cup loosely packed fresh cilantro
3 to 4 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons canola oil
1-1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon honey
2 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Crackers and/or vegetable sticks

1. Assemble KitchenAid® Food Processor with large work bowl and multipurpose blade. Combine edamame, green onions, cilantro, 3 tablespoons water, oil, lime juice, honey, garlic, salt and pepper in bowl; process on high speed 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth. Add additional water if hummus is too thick.

2. Serve with crackers and vegetable sticks for dipping. Store in airtight container in refrigerator up to 4 days.

Makes 2 cups hummus
Tip: To make fruit and vegetable slices for dipping, assemble food processor with large work bowl and adjustable slicing disc; slide to third notch for medium slices. Slice cucumbers; peeled carrots; halved and seeded bell peppers; and halved and cored tart app

I caught the tail end of him making onion dip with a secret ingredient. It looked like it had seeds, like caraway. David couldn't guess the ingredient and Jan said it was caramelized Vadalia onions and tofu. I couldn't find it printed anywhere. I would like to try it. I will just caramelize sliced Vadalia, then process it with tofu. (If it doesn't taste good I will throw in some sour cream and cream cheeseSmiley Happy

Hi philogirl…did you ever find out what was in the Onion Dip that Bob made for David using the Ninja? I have the Vadalia onions and the tofu but was wondering if there was anything else in it.

Any luck with the recipe? I was also going to try it but wasn't sure if it was just caramelized Vadalia onions and tofu or if anything else was added.

Hi Sealie, I searched again and found this on Ninjakitchen.com. Tons of recipes! I think this is it because it has pepper and I saw black dots in his recipe: French Onion Dip 1 T. veg. oil 1 med. yellow onion 1/2 t. salt and 1/4 t. pepper Sauté 6-8 minutes until caramelized Add 1 T malt vinegar for 1 minute Cool and process with 1/2 c. firm tofu 4oz fat free cream cheese 1/3 c. fat free sour cream
