Watched his recipe corner. Made peach ice cream. Talked about "no sugar added peach whatever". Isn't there a lot of sugar in fruit?

Yes their is natural fruit in sugar...intertwined with vitamins and fibre.

I eat canteloupe, blueberries and bananas daily. Very healthy. Its the ice cream

I'd be passing on.

Diabetic servings of fruit are very scant.

@Group 5 minus 1  Yes, there is natural sugar in fruit and veggies - more so in fruit. He's talking about not adding processed sugar. However, when you blend fruit to make a slushie or do a fruit and veggie blend, you may consume more natural sugars than you realize.

DH is trying to stay off of diabetes meds, so he is careful to eat whole fruits and veggies, so he doesn't consume too much. There is a list on the American Diabetes Association website with veggies that can be consumed without limits. Other than that, he has to watch it.

Why is he trying to stay off diabetic meds?

I remember my doctor telling me sugar is sugar.

Why would you take meds if you can control your blood sugar naturally? His is great now, and no medication.

@PA Mom-mom I am at the point that I can eat some fruit but need to be careful about which ones and how much. My endo tells me that the big difference is the fiber whole fruits can supply.

He seems to have gained a lot of weight back and I see him eating pastry and other sugar fatty foods. How does  that go staying off diabetes meds?

Don't apologize.   You were not confusing.
