Curtis Stones breaded hake fish filets----😤

These were offered the last time Curtis Stone was on HSN---so I tried--I mean, Curtis said they were fabulous, dahling..... well, they are not!! They are horrible in fact. Have tried cooking in the airfryer a few times, then on the stove top and they are not good --AND, they leave that awful fishy smell lingering. The breading is too thick and hard and the fish is pretty bland  anyway and are not seasoned well. Now DD likes them in fish tacos --that I haven't tried and prob won't. I did get my $$ back tho. but also thought it is interesting that they come from or  are made by Rastelli. Just nasty!!!curtis-stone-20-count-35-oz-breaded-cape-hake-filets-or-d-20251013134452603~922769.jpg

Could it be that Rastelli might  be where Curtis ships thorough not necessarily that Rastelli buys them.Anyone know?

@wagirl ............I had to google it I did not know what a Hake Fish is.  Google says it is best cooked fresh.  Maybe that is why it did not taste good.

i was checking out the reviews.

there are more positive than negative (and at least one of the negatives are about receiving thawed fish.)

best thing about buying from hsn and qvc. try it and then you have a 100% money back guarantee on all food products.

sorry that you didnt like them @wagirl  .

@Imaoldhippie --that could be---was never a big fan of that type of fish anyway--even as a kid, did not like the fish sticks that were popular in school lunches. Can't remember my mom ever serving them but she could have.

I bought an order of Salmon from Curtis Stone a while ago.  It comes from the Rastelli people.  I have an auto-delivery from Rastelli Egg Harbor from QVC.  The salmon from the Q is cheaper. I think the Chef Stone food is more because of his name.
