I made this yesterday to go with bbq sandwiches and it was really good! I really like the creaminess that the sour cream added and just a touch of onion taste.
Creamy Cole Slaw
Recipe courtesy Bobby Flay
· 1 head green cabbage, finely shredded
· 2 large carrots, finely shredded (I used 1)
· 3/4 cup best-quality mayonnaise
· 2 tablespoons sour cream (I didn't measure and probably used more)
· 2 tablespoons grated Spanish onion (I used less)
· 2 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
· 2 tablespoons white vinegar (I didn't measure but I know I added a little more~ I used rice vinegar then added a little apple cider vinegar)
· 1 tablespoon dry mustard (I used less)
· 2 teaspoons celery salt (only to taste- I used about 2-3 pinches)
· Salt and freshly ground pepper
Combine the shredded cabbage and carrots in a large bowl. Whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, onion, sugar, vinegar, mustard, celery salt, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl, and then add to the cabbage mixture. Mix well to combine and taste for seasoning; add more salt, pepper, or sugar if desired.
