Cream Cheese Jam Cookies

3 sticks unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
2 Tablespoon lemon juice
zest of 1 lemon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
4 1/2 cups flour
1/2 Tablespoon baking powder
preserves - apricot, cherry, blackberry, peach, raspberry, ect..
powdered sugar

Cream butter and sugar, add cream cheese and mix well. Add eggs, blend well. Mix in lemon juice, zest, vanilla and almond extract. Combine flour and baking powder and mix into wet mixture. Chill well. Shape tablespoonfuls of dough into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, indent centers; fill with preserves. Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
