You can add milk, cream, etc., to make them creamier but it's not necessary. I think the trick is to cook them 1/2 an hour longer than the package recommends. Instant grits aren't edible, imo.


@Carolina925 Marsh Henn Mill products are excellent!  We've been to their little shop and wish I could go back.  Their t-shirts from a few years ago were super--don't know about now but VERY soft and good quality!

My Mr is the grits & rice cooker in our home. I cannot cook them to save my life but, we have them with breakfast. Sometimes with cheese, sometimes I add butter & sugar. He just uses water and butter.

My granny would make grits when we visited in S.C. My aunt also made them with cheese. YUM!!!

I like them with bacon.

@Sooner - S.N.O.B. has not closed. They were closed between the holidays. Most days they don't open until 11:30.

 

And yes, they have great grits!!!
