I got this recipe from my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook...page 168...it was my first cookbook...1990.
I have doubled the recipe.

/></div> </div> <p><br/> <br/> <strong>Rolled Sugar Cookies</strong><br/> <br/> 4 cups flour<br/> 1/2 tsp. salt<br/> 3 tsp. baking powder<br/> 12 T unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks)<br/> 2/3 cup Crisco<br/> 1 1/2 cups sugar<br/> 2 eggs<br/> 2 T milk<br/> 2 tsp. vanilla<br/> <br/> Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Beat butter and Crisco; add sugar and beat till fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.<br/> Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating until well combined. Cover and chill at least 3 hours.<br/> Working with dough, small portions at a time, on a lightly floured surface,roll to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes.<br/> Preheat oven to 375.<br/> Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 minutes or until lightly golden brown on edges.</p>
