@Hop . First Rinse beans about 3 times.   I put beans in a small pot and cover with water.  Bring to a boil and boil for 5 MINUTES .  Remove from heat and let sit for 1 hour. Rinse and then cook for approximately 40mins in a liquid.  Now your beans will be soft.  Enjoy
