Hey @Kachina624, I'm curious too about the schools you attended!

@Citrine1@Kachina624@jlkz,  Hi ALL!  I yoo have close ties to Philly -U Penn and Wharton girl here.  Abner's is my favorite cheesesteaks (don't care what they say about Pat's or Geno's LOL)

I must try to make them at home!

Isn't a traditional Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich made with Cheez Whiz?

Hi @Kachina624!  I'm familiar with Drexel, of course, since I live in Philadelphia, but not so much with Havertown or Upper Darby.  I'm near Bucks County, but still in the city.

Hey @NJgirl 1205!  Ah, Pat's and Geno's -- the great debate that never ends.  LOL  I like them both but haven't had one from either place in ages.  Don't get to that part of the city much.  I'm not familiar with Abner's.

@Citrine1  Have you seen the DIY show Stone Wall Revival?  It's about a company in Bucks Co. that rehabs the Revolutionary era stone buildings in that area.  I think it's on the DIY channel Wednesday night   I find it very interesting.

My sister lives in Chester County and there are many old houses there too.  Years ago she used to go to this bar with a friend to meet men.  I was reading a book about the history there and it mentioned that this very place was frequented by George Washington.  I almost came unglued.  Here she's hanging out, picking up guys practically right in front of GW.  Do you suppose he picked up girls?

I think Pat's does, but not sure.

I always toast the rolls, instead of steaming. Just pop on a cookie sheet, cut-side down, into a 325-degree oven for about 6-7 minutes.

Philadelpia is my old stomping grounds, but I never taste-tested all the area cheesesteaks. The best I ever had was made by my aunt, who used to own a restaurant & catering business.

TY @IamMrsG!

I make cheesesteaks every Kentucky Derby Day!
