Normally I do not buy Hellman's but when I have recipe that specifically calls for it I buy as small a container as I can. Then I give to my son the next time we see each other since that is what they prefer. Do not live close enough to him to just go borrow a "cup".

Without reading all of the answers, yes, you can use Miracle Whip but be aware you will have added the taste of lemon.

@ECBG That's funny because to me Hellman's has a much more lemon taste than Miracle Whip, which to me has a sweeter taste.
Being the true gourmet that I am, with my sophisticated palate, I will add that NOTHING but Miracle Whip is acceptable to me on a really good bologna sandwich on white bread.
Otherwise, it's like getting a Pepsi with breakfast when you asked for a Coke. . .

@Sooner Funny you mentioned that my friend. Years ago, out of college and married, I went to my gf's house. She and her DH were all from the same college.
She invited me for lunch for a tomato sandwich. The tomato was SO large a slice would cover the bread! This "country" girl was happy!!! I bit in and, YUCK LEMON!!!!!!! That's when I learned about Miracle Whip and that it would never, ever be for me!

@ECBG As a country girl with a grandmother who grew gigantic tomaters' the old fashioned heirloom (just "tomatoes" back then) had a real acid bite to them! I loved them.
They made the best blt's ever!
We used Miracle Whip for some things and Hellman's for others. Now we also have Duke's but hardly ever buy Miracle whip. Just Dukes (or Blue Plate) and Hellman's--which to me is very lemony! Dukes is neutral--to me.
