Re: Calling all quesadillas lovers!

They are always a favorite in this house...

i like mine with chicken, cheese, and of course some guacamole on top with a little medium sales to finish it off... Oooh, sounds yummy - I think that will be my dinner tomorrow!

They are  great for get togethers  - everyone just piles on whatever they want and cooks them themselves - just have plenty of fixings to pick and choose from... And, a few nonstick frying pans heating up on the stove...

I make a triple berry jalapeño jam (think the recipe came from taste of home originally).. It makes such a great Qeusadilla with Fontina cheese! Ever try Brie, prosciutto and fig jam on one?

Thank you!! I love quesadillas. If I go to a new Mexican restaurant, I get the quesadilla as a benchmark to how good the place is.

I have to say @Mothertrucker I make very basic quesadillas so that's why those recipes were so interesting to me as is your Brie, prosciutto and fig jam one.  I have fig jam, next time I go to Trader Joe's I'll have to pick up some Brie and prosciutto and give it a try . . . thanks Mothertrucker!

the triple berry jalapeno jam sounds outrageous!

My cousin recently set out cream cheese doused with pepper jam to spread on crackers and it's delicious! and so simple!

Arby's sells their jalapeno poppers with a berry/pepper jam and it's the perfect accompaniment!

the fontina with the pepper jam warmed on a flour tortilla sounds really good and really addictive! lol

and now I'm hungry!

Re: Calling all quesadillas lovers!

Does anyone make homemade flour tortillas?

I saw a YouTUBE where a person used two glass pie plates as a press !

Tips?

Lard

Crisco

Butter

other?

Thanks

Re: Calling all quesadillas lovers!

Have you ever tried the TortillaLand tortillas?  They are fresh uncooked tortillas, you cook about 30 seconds per side (I cook them on a cast iron comal).  They are delicious, I buy the huge package from Costco (2 pkg of 50).  I use plastic wrap and wrap in pairs and freeze to keep fresh.  You can also find them in smaller pkgs at Walmart and other stores in the fridge section.

may good luck be your friend in whatever you do
and may trouble be always a stranger to you
