I used DH Butter Golden cake mix using butter, now it has 1 T less butter and there is less mix in the box. I followed the directions to the "T". After cooling as directed, they shrunk in the pan. Never had this problem with this mix before the changes. Not happy. I looked at BC and P. They have 1/3 c butter in them.
Has anyone used these mixes? Which do you like? Thanks you your help.

@Barbarainnc. One of our posters recently posted this addition to cake mixes to make them the same size as the old mixes. You might find it useful. Can't remember the poster to give credit.
"I did a search and what I came up with was to add 5 or 6 tablespoons of flour to the new smaller size boxed cake mix and also add 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder. Does this seem correct? (making an old recipe that called for the larger size cake mix."

@Barbarainnc: Previously the DH Butter Golden cake mix was what I used for years because it tasted more like made from scratch instead of a mix. Last time I used it, for me tasted horrible. I went on the DH website and found numerous negative reviews because they changed the product. I now use the other two you mentioned. I also use the added ingredients to make the cake bigger and fill the baking pan. Just my opinion and experience. Southern Bee

Southern Bee, Which do you prefer BC or P ? Thanks

@Barbarainnc: I have only used BC and thought it was good. I have cut back on my baking and trying to eat better. I was invited to a friends lunch and she had used the P low sugar butter cake and strawberries with sugar free cool whip and it was good. Southern Bee

This is disappointing to hear because DH is the go-to brand for cake decorating because it is the firmest to hold the heavy icing and decorations.

@Barbarainnc: I checked the DH website and reviews no longer listed. Previously you could read reviews under each product and reviews for recipes provided. I still use the family size chewy fudge brownie mix as the basic mix for my brownie recipe and that product has not changed. My Mother would bake from scratch but started using the DH cake mix and make the frosting from scratch. Southern Bee
