My family thoroughly enjoys "The Best Brussel Sprouts" from the Bob Warden cookbook called "Great Foods Fast.." Here's my dilemma: I need to make a lot of them! And it's so time consuming to make each 1 pound batch individually. I'd like to know if I could make 4 pounds in one shot, and if so, how long should I cook them in the pressure cooker? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated as Thanksgiving is right around the corner and these sprouts are in high demand. ![]()

I wish I could help you but I'm afraid I can't. I checked my favorite source (Miss Vickie) but couldn't find the information you were looking for.
There are lots of experienced pressure cooker people on this thread and I am sure they will be able to give you a great answer.

Luvbirdz - I have the same cookbook and if you look at pg. 202 for general cooking of brussels sprouts, Bob Warden lists "any" size for 2 minutes with 1/2 cup liquid. I'm guessing while you would be limited by the size of your pressure cooker, as long as you didn't go over the recommended 2/3 full, you should be able to do 4 lbs (if they fit). Or break it into 2 recipes of 2 lbs. each, which would cut your cooking time in half of doing 4 lbs. individually.
I've never made this recipe, so thanks for bringing it to my attention! May put that on my Thanksgiving menu...

Thank you so much. I didn't even think to look there. 2 batches definitely easier than 4.

My PC manual says, " Quantity of vegetables does not change pressure cooking times." Just do not full over 2/3 full.
