Beef Bake

8 slices bread

1 tablespoon butter

1/2 pound ground beef

1/4 cup minced onion

2 tablespoons celery..diced

1 tablespoon mustard

1 cup cheddar cheese...grated

2 eggs...beaten

1 cup milk

Cut 4 slices bread diagonally. Spread lightly with butter. Arrange in the bottom of a buttered 8 inch square pan. Toast lightly at 350* for about 15 minutes. While that is toasting, brown beef with onion and celery. Drain. Add mustard. Spread meat mixture over toasted bread. Sprinkle cheese over meat mixture. Cover with remaining bread slices. Cut diagonally to make sandwiches. Combine egg and milk. Pour over bread. Bake at 350* for about 40 minutes.
