And, I will have to tell my Mom about the reference of Better Maid Chips. She lived on those as a kid!

Tomorrow is pasty making day! I cant wait! The only thing I dread is peeling then trying to dice the rutabega. Ive got all the ingredients but sadly, no Verners. Here in NC a soda called CheerWine is popular, havent tried it yet.......

I grew up in Toledo and never knew about the pasties, but the mention of Vernors and Faygo red pop brought back great memories. We can't get either one here in NY, but my daughter can find Vernors in NC.

I was born and raised in Michigan but now live in Wisconsin. I was grocery shopping at a local store and had a couple packs of Vernors in my cart. I gentleman came up to me and out of no where asked me if I was from Michigan. It stunned me a bit because I surly did not recognize him. I said yes - How did you know. He said he could always tell from the Vernors!
