I came across this recipe in one of my mom's handwritten recipe books. I haven't made it yet, but she has a notation next to it that says, "great". So I trust her!!!

Apple Pie Pudding

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter

1 cup flour (sifted)

2 cups apples, diced

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Cream sugar and butter; add beaten egg. Combine sifted flour, spices and soda and add to sugar mixture. Fold in apples and nuts.

Bake in 9" greased pie pan for 45 minutes at 350.

Cut in wedges and serve the following sauce over each.

Butter Sauce

1 cup sugar

2 T butter

2 T cornstarch

1 cup boiling water

1 tsp vanilla

Combine the first 4 ingredients and stir until clear, then add the vanilla.
