Another busy day cooking tip

This might be helpful to someone, so I thought I'd share another thing I do when super-busy in the kitchen.  I do not know the correct term for it, but am calling the part of my stove where the dials and clock are the 'dashboard.'  It's the raised panel above the burners.

Of course I always use timers for things in the oven, but on big days, can run out of timers, or lose track of which timer is for what dish.  So I use a dry-erase pen to notate things on the dashboard. The first time I did this, I was worried the heat from the stove would bake the ink on, but it was needless concern.  Of course I do not leave it there for long (not one to push my luck), but the ink washes off easily.

Obviously this idea won't work for everyone -- stove colors, styles, etc., vary widely.  I just thought I'd mention it for those whom it might be useful.

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.

Re: Another busy day cooking tip

Hey, Mrs G!  Always full of great ideas.  My stove is black so I probably don't have this sort of thing but I have my list on a clipboard.

I picked up my turkey today and the couple of things I forgot on Thursday (knew there would be SOMETHING!) so no more having to go anywhere and now I just have to keep working on my pre prep prep.   That probably makes NO sense.  hehe

Hope it goes well!

@IamMrsG, we think alike. In have a magnitized dry erase board on my fridge that I use for that and other reminders!  LM
