Made this today and it is so good. Too good, too tempting.

Almond Chess Torte

1 1/2 sticks butter

1 1/2 C. sugar

1 1/2 C. flour

1 t. almond extract

2 eggs

1/3 C. sliced almonds

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Line an iron skillet with a piece of aluminum foil, press foil agains sides of skillet. Spray foil.

Melt butter. Add sugar, flour, almond extract and eggs. Mix thoroughly.

Put mixture in skillet. Top with almonds.

Bake for 35 minutes (I had to bake longer but I'm sure it depends on the size of your skillet) Remove from oven when torte is lightly golden brown. It will become stiffer as it cools. Slide torte with the foil onto a wire rack to cool.
