Had this last night with some halibut for dinner. It was delicious.
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
24 asparagus spears
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Melt the butter in small saucepan. Add lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Trim asparagus and cook in large pot of salted boiling water for one minute. Drain and place on serving platter. Pour sauce over the top. Sprinkle with cheese. Serve at once.

Now that sounds like a really yummy meal. I recently cooked two huge bunches of asparagus then realized I had nothing on which to serve it. I found a cute rectangular dish on Zulily which is just perfect and deep enough so the sauce won't slosh out.

This is also one of my favorite things to serve with almondine trout or salmon. Thanks for reminding me, DiAnne.

We had asparagus last night, too.........roasted with olive oil and a little butter, drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Last week, we had it roasted with crumbled bacon on top.
Take advantage of asparagus season while you can! Haven't tried the lemon version but will do so. Thanks for another idea.

Great over roasted veggies too. I have asparagus in the fridge as well parsnips and carrots which I really love to roast in the oven. This sauce would be perfect.
