Re: ARE THESE KITCHEN APPLIANCES NECESSARY?

Over on ShopHQ they had an air fryer special yesterday.  I recorded it so I could get familiar with that products.   While I'm really not a fan of greasy food, I liked the footprint on the appliance.

The show didn't entice me to buy one, but it was good information.  If my convection toaster oven went kerfluey tomorrow, I would re-think the air fryer.

Lol ...  I must be the ONLY person in the western hemisphere that never owned or used a George Foreman grill.

I've always wondered how much $$$ George has made from that appliance with his name on it.  He must be set for this life ... and the next one, too.    Woman LOL

@Tinkrbl44 No.  We never had one either. Or a panini maker.  We bought an air fryer about 5 years ago, haven't  used it five times.

Odd things?  I found a super deal about the same time on an electric water boiler that lowers a basket of loose tea leaves in the boiled water, steeps for the set number of minutes and raises the leaves out then. Don't laugh.  We use the heck out of that! LOL!

Tonight we made quinoa in our rice cooker and it does a great job and you don't have to watch it. It cooks and keeps warm.

@Tinkrbl44 The Breville Tea Maker is basically an electric lettle that has a steel basket that you put loose tea in and start it and it lowers the basket in the water in the kettle, steeps it for a certain amount of time and raises it so the tea won't oversteep.

I got it the Christmas I retired, which was several years ago.  I love it!!! I had points on a credit card, bonus coupons from Williams Sonoma, and it was 20 percent off to begin with--so I got a deal on it!

I got the water boiler at a Christmas after we had a hard year, husband had health issues and was freezing and it boils water, holds it at one of 5 preselected temperatures and dispenses hot water. We make a lot of tea and he enjoys toys, so I got that from Amazon.

Turns out we use it a lot for things other than tea. But mostly for a cup or pitcher of tea.  So two odd appliances used a lot by people who haven't had a toaster oven in 25 years. . . Woman Very Happy And these two appliances live in the laundry room too
