Re: A Gentle Reminder to check your spices

@PansyBoo

I do the same and use the old spices in a pot on the stove with my home grown oranges.

Yesterday I threw out cranberries which were not looking happy. After seeing your beautiful pot on your stove I wish I hadn't.

It's beautiful.

Oh dear, @AlsaceGal, that's not my beautiful pot. LOL!!! It's a pic I got off the Internet. I do have a pretty nice looking vessel I use for fall simmering that's shaped like a pumpkin. But you should see the one I use at Christmas. It's this really old cheap pot that the handle broke off of. But it does have a little bit of decoration around the outside. It's all stained and yucky on the inside but it's just turned into a tradition to use it. And I guess the Holidays are all about tradition.

And mostly I use oranges, lemons, and sometimes apples. I seldom have cranberries on hand. Then I doctor it up with my old spices and it ends up smelling pretty darn good.

Best to YOU!!!

Best to you too.

I also have an older pot I use for my spices and oranges, it belonged to my dear mom.

I have a freezer shelf for spices.  I get the big bottles.
