I posted this recipe several years ago and for those of you who did not see it here you go. Whenever I make this I am always asked for the recipe. It has 3 different kinds of beans in it and it also has a touch of cinnamon. It is also always a hit at our house. It comes nice and thick and is very easy to make.
3-Bean Chili
2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1 small green pepper, chopped
2 cans (16 oz. ea.) Bush's Best Dark Red Kidney Beans, undrained
2 cans (16 oz. ea.) Bush's Best Pinto Beans, undrained
2 cans (16 oz. ea.) Bush's Best Black Beans, undrained
1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
2 envelopes chili seasoning mix
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1-1/4 cups sour cream
Brown meat in large saucepot on medium heat; drain. Add onion and green pepper; cook until tender, stirring frequently.
Add all remaining ingredients except sour cream; mix well. Bring to boil; cover. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Spoon into soup bowls; top with sour cream.

This sounds really good, & quick (I don't want to wait 4 hr for a slow cooker!) - I will use generic brand beans, use sharp cheddar instead of sour cream & skip the cinnamon though, even if a small amount (spices are too expensive to buy for only 1 or 2 recipes). THANKS!

Hi KathyLFan.........I usually top mine with onions and cheddar cheese and usually omit the sour cream. I hope that you get a chance to make it. Enjoy!

Yep, I think I'm going to make this recipe for Super Bowl Sunday. My normal chili only has one kind of bean in it. Three luscious legumes has to be so much better!!!!!!!!
Thanks again for sharing.

Hi Chicagoan........ This is my husbands favorite chili recipe. We too both love beans and the addition of three different kinds of beans makes it good. We also love the addition of the cinnamon as it gives it a different taste. It is so good to see you post here. How are you doing and how are your family and grandchildren doing? They must be getting big. It sure has been a cold winter here and I would think that it is in your area too. Stay warm and safe and I hope that you get a chance to make this recipe.

Hi Britbrit........thank you for the heads up on adding cinnamon to your red sauces. I definitely will give it a try. This recipe is an older recipe and I am glad to hear that you like the older recipes. I have a bunch of recipes posted in RS from before they changed RS back before 2004. I will have to look them up and see what I find and try to post them on here.
I hope that you get a chance to try this recipe.
