I hate the word "chic"!   I watched Lori Goldstein on her shows Sat  and every single item was so chic, she even made up a word chicest.  : )   Nothing against Lori, but when you watch Isaac, his items are all chic too and Susan Graver constantly says that word.....I know what it means but I am so tired of hearing it used to describe every single item on air in fashion.   I don't care what anyone thinks, but some of those clothes would not make you look chic...at least not what I think of for that term.    Some just make you look like a bag lady.  : (      I guess its just my age!  : )

"On the day" makes me crazy.

Also "silhouette".

STOP with the 'pops of color.'  You can say many other words - colorful or bright accent, spark of interest, spark up the neutral of the rest of the outfit - whatever. Just forget about the blankety-blank 'pops.'

'Obsessed' is also ridiculous. Quit that, girls. Makes you sound dumb.

I can't stand the phone calls

"Hi Alice, how are you today?"

"Oh Antonella, oh Antonella, I just love you with all my heart!"

"I love you too! Did you buy the sweater?"

"Yes I did, I bought it in puce."

"Oh that's my favorite color, good choice."

Next caller:

"I bought the sweater in black."

"Oh great choice, that's my favorite color!"

I really don't watch anymore. If I want something, I look it up and decide.

I love this thread; very funny comments!

cyan, I noticed that too! I meant to post it that day but completely forgot to. she described almost all her clothing as chic, and every single time I talked back to the tv and said, "no it's not!!"

today's overused word was "aspirational piece"

Oh, it's "aspirational" all right.  It aspires to be as great as they say it is!  (And it's going to be sadly disappointed.)

I did not read this whole thread so probably this is a repeat but I think the most overused word is "designer".  I cringe everytime I hear it.

Fabrication.  Is it really a word?

You can get it home for $20 (for the next 5 months!)
