One more shopper speaking up about the puzzling problem of QVC returns and exchanges. I have not had a problem over the years getting the wrong item. However, I have had multiple times not getting exchanges handled correctly.
Most often it's the handler in the warehouse not paying attention to the return directions enclosed with the item and just moving it through as a return, as many of you have noted.
When I want to exchange an item, usually clothing, I first check to make sure the item I want in the exchange is still in stock. Even then, most often it gets processed as a return.
However, when I call Customer Service they always have made it right if there are return/shipping issues.
Recently I ordered some black out curtains from Amazon. They sent me the wrong size. I went to the Order, selected "Problem", sent a message saying what was wrong and said I was returning the item.
Got a message literally minutes later with return instructions. I took it to the UPS shipping service I use to handle returns an hour later. Didn't even have to repackage the item. They do that at the shipping service.
Got my correct replacement about 4pm the next day.
Now that's service.
