I ordered a pair of earring on March 17, 2018. It's processing, but my EDD is April 16, 2018. It's not on backorder, so it must be in stock. Can't make this stuff up.

I don't believe they are just sitting there.  Probably the supplier cannot make them available immediately.  I know, it's disappointing after you decide to buy something to have such a delay.  I suppose you could cancel.

@Lisa Y- It wasn't an "advance order" item, was it?  I know they do those, too.  I have to agree though that it's unlikely the order is just sitting there, if it's a normal "in stock" item.

Every time i place an order I'm given an EDD before I finalize the ordering process.

If the EDD is unacceptable to me I don't place the order.

If it's acceptable, and I DO place the order, I wait for the EDD. 

what am I missing here ❓

Honestly, I didn't notice the EDD when I first ordered the earrings. I only checked the status when I received other items that were ordered after the earrings were ordered. Now the system tells me I can't cancel bc its being prepared for shipping. They must do an incredible job preparing items for shipping. 😛 I will wait to see how long this actually takes.

I have a food order that is way, way overdue.  I understand the weather is awful so I am ok with it.
