Most places that I order clothes from do this. They show all the colors and then cross out the colors that are not available in certain sizes. I don't see the problem with this.

Apparently, someone decided they should set up the item listings to show all the options that have ever been offered rather than just the current options. The "slash" through the unavailable options is fairly light, seeing things you can't get is frustrating, and the whole experience is really not very user friendly.
As an example of what happens when there have been many options for an item over the years, here's what I see when I check the listing for the LocknLock pie carrier:
Is anyone else experiencing this odd new layout?
I went over to look at this and my first thought was "were ALL of these colors ever available to begin with?" If something was working why try to change it? First they tried to list the colors of things vertically so you could only see one color at a time and now this. You'd think they'd leave what's tried and true, and has worked for years, alone.

One other IT / Marketing situation that is really flawed is showing on home page multiple boxes highlighting an item from a specific category i.e Beauty,For the Home etc. but no where are those highlighted items identified with item #'s.
Took a fair amount of time trying to find a Berkshire woodland throw yesterday using keywords in the search box & Google Lens.
Finally had to scroll through every throw guessing where that pattern may have been in a particular listing.
Good thing I had extra time to throw away yesterday.

This has been on some pages for a long time. Some pages delete the sold out choices, others just cross them out. It's not new to me.
I do notice a new feature: "Grid/List" that lets you choose how you want to view the choices, either vertically or horizontally.
