Re: Why is it so hard to name colors?

Agree!  For the love of pete!

How hard is to label the 1 million shades of blue (for example)  that are offered?

@MoJoV I'm sorry but I have to agree with you.  You are not being critical, she is one that I simply cannot take.  That silly "look at me I'm Sandra Dee" attitude.  Yes, we are in difficult times but that is not an excuse to fumble at your job IMO.

Do you all REALLY expect people to learn all the colors for all the things QVC sells?  To be confused is and always has been a problem for ALL hosts.  You see it all the time.

It's live tv, colors are sometimes close and sometimes not named very specifically, so yeah, humans are there doing their jobs.  And we aren't all as smart as those of us home on our sofas are.

Those people are there tired, worried about their families, going through what everyone is and trying to do a job and keep it and having to be on camera with their every move scrutinized by eagle eyed viewers.

Then,as I said LABEL THEM. Just a thought from an "eagle eyed" viewer here.  Yikes.

Re: Why is it so hard to name colors?

I rarely watch anymore for many reasons and don't know most of the hosts.  But I would think it's part of their job to know what they're talking about.  At the very least, isn't the info on cards that they are holding?  Read it.  Seems that some hosts are ill prepared for the job they're supposed to do.

not really but a piece of painters tape on each garment would solve the problem, but there's' no one there to think outside the box

and that is the host job to give info, not prattle on and on about stuff that has nothing to do with what they are selling

BTW Angel QF knows every color of every garment she sells

Re: Why is it so hard to name colors?

I honestly think for too long they have relied on the "Product Reps" for that information and a lot of them had forgotten how to do their research, or maybe they just "Don't have time"

I have to say, I am loving the presentations without the product reps, primarily all that huggy kissy "You are my Best Friend" stuff is just too much for me.

I just wish more like the beginning days of QVC the Hosts had to really learn about what they are selling.

I will agree with another poster, some of the ridiculous names of colors is just too much but for whatever reason the designers or "Merchandisers" thinks thats what helps sets them apart.  Mostly it is just confusing for the buyer.

Last night David was selling reclinders and there were 4 colors and he had a hard time with the 4 colors and I found myself getting irritated, not something that normally bothers me and I love watching him.  Perhaps I too am watching too much or perhaps it was just a bad  night for both he and I.

Let me play you a sad song on the World's Smallest Violin ...

The hosts should know the products they are selling that's their job--....they talk about all the pre-show preparation and special meetings they attend....how about doing their homework....like many of us do for our jobs!
