Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

I do have to smile at all of the "business experts" on this thread.

I highly doubt most have any real world business experience...especially with a national retail company.

Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

I think that @cassielynn5 has made some good points. I know I've had similar thoughts. Sometimes people just need to purge their frustration. It was her time.

If we look at posts of many here, there are often comments about way to fix/save QVC. Although a new poster, @cassielynn5 is far from the first.

I, too, wish powers that be would listen more to customers concerns. They need to. The Q can't exist without us.

We can't expect them to listen, it's their circus, but there have been some great ideas for improvement. Criticisms should always be welcomed, as long as they also include valid observations and suggestions for improvement.

@cassielynn5.  Perhaps you should be communicating with the qurate Corporate Offices instead of a bunch of customers who have other problems and no power to take any action.

Your same complaints have been echoed by other members, at least since 2017, when I noticed sales began declining and QVC laid off 400 employees.

I saw some changes in 2024...more sales, free shipping, lower sale prices...and beginning to actually compete with other retailers.  I got good deals on non clothing items.  It began to look hopeful.

Mostly, I only have a beef with fashion. Until they offer better quality, cut, construction, fit, fabric, styles, sizing, and more vendor variety, I have pretty much given up on that category.

Christmas decor needs a kick in the pants, too.

Qurate has already determined what it's going to do.

It first will rebrand as "The QVC Group" and shift its focus to social media to drive traffic to the website or app.   More focus on established influencers, story telling produced for social media along with  celebrities and celebrity brands.

Inevitably,  to me, this means an elimination of costly broadcast and cable distribution and the old traditional role of host will become extinct.  Viewership on cable is down dramatically and the plug will be pulled eventually for the company to survive.

I only know what I'd re-do from my viewijng point.

I'd stop all the clowning around from the hosts.

All the sharing of family, children, relatives, etc. is a big drag for me.

Just sell the products/items.  All the rest I really couldn't care about.

I'm not an insider or invested in the Q.  I just shop.

I was just reading a news article the other day that said while brick and mortar and tv shopping (specifically mentioning QVC) are down, buying via social media sites is up.

People apparently like the interaction with the seller/'influencer' and the ability to see the products described and demonstrated and to connect with the selllers and other buyers to discuss the products.

Uh, this is exactly what many of us have said we miss about the current iteration of QVC.  Describe and demonstrate the products, forget the endless cutesy stories and attempt at entertaining.  (Some is fine, if not fun, but not when it overshadows the product information.)

And even the customer phone calls have allowed interaction and discussion/questions directly from customers to sellers.

Novel concept.  But it must evolve to survive.  Will be interesting to see if it does.🤷‍♀️

Re: Whats the easiet way to fix/save QVC?

@cassielynn5

OP is just airing her viewpoint and maybe frustrations and she didn't cast personal aspersions on any specific host, etc.  Not sure why some of the snarky replies to her?

I happen to agree that QVC's off the mark and their "fixes" haven't seemed to fix anything so far.

I do know one thing:  Their website is fairly useless to me without their videos actually demo'ing the product.  Their still photos of products, especially clothes, are pretty lame.  The only draw QVC has for me is their demo of the products, which sets them apart from other online retailers.  That's also one reason I haven't been watching or buying much--their product demos aren't focusing on the product but rather on unrelated personal conversations from the hosts.

Hello!! @cassielynn5 🤗

You can watch QVC2 when the main channel has appliances, vacuums, food items etc. on. That’s what I do! And a lot of times the fashion, accessories and home decor are on sale there too.

And what’s not to like about “ME by Jennie Garth”?

Her items are well made, cute and in style. If you’ve never tried her line, I think you’ll be Happy you did!

I do agree with you on the topic of bras. Either your a Breezie customer or a large busted woman with the other brands the Q has. There’s no in between.

Sorry not a fan on HSN clothing. I don’t think it’s fresh or appealing at all. 🥴

Your suggestions on clothing would only INCREASE costs. I stopped buying clothing

at Q several Years ago. Most are cheaply made and dowdy looking. I did buy 3 very nice sweaters last year - 2 from Isaac, 1 from KG.

I don't mind spending a bit more when I get good quality and design.
