.... you read a post from someone who continually posts about the MANY purchases they have made (often with pics), and you suspect they have a "shopping problem."
While I think what others buy is no one's business, I personally feel better not commenting rather than oohing and ahhing over whatever item they bought to fill some need that a shopping purchase never will.
I guess I don't want to contribute to their need to buy more.
Weird question, I was just wondering if others notice this, and their reactions to it.

@faeriemoon, I agree, I don't wish to be an enabler to anyone who has a problem.

@faeriemoon I do notice- most likely because I went through a long period of buying too much. Now I'm pleased not to feel that urge and what hosts or posters buy does not lead to purchases.

My reaction is to consider them to be paid influencers and that the posts are not factual.
But could be that we have some hoarding going on or impulsive shoppers. That makes sense too.

I don't post or comment, but years ago, met a woman at a picnic that talked about her many, many purchases. She commented that day on on my Q top. When she passed, her daughter found about 100 unopened Q and HSN boxes. It was beyond sad. The daughter said many of the same items in 10 colors. Temptations 9x13 set with travel bag. She found 11 of them unopened. The daughter had NO idea her mom had a problem.
I admit to too many shower gels, but they fit in a 10x10 space. (Inches, that is!). I haven't bought any in a year. I have maybe 10 items I could gift. I find it off putting when hosts think you need to fill a gift closet. One prior host mentioned a Dooney purchase for her child's teacher. I guess I live in a different world. Not my business how people spend their money, but I thought that was crazy.

Your money, your problem. It's not my business if shopping is fulfilling an empty spot in their life.

I don't particularly care about or get bothered about how others spend their own money. I'm not impressed, but I'm not appalled.
If they want to broadcast it, that's their perogative, but it doesn't move impact me. For all I know, they may have a large income and/or enormous net worth, so the purchases are immaterial.

I am thinking of one particular poster who goes on and on about her multiple purchases. The same women does the same thing about her carnivore lifestyle

As I've said before, it appears that QVC is an "addiction" for some people. Does not impact my life but it is kind of sad.
