@Kachina624 Take the humble Blankillow, previously clearance priced at $21.99 and now $46.00, NO return or exchange. This is not a serious retail marketing strategy. "It didn't sell out on clearance, 3 colors still available, so let's mark it up 209%." I was a Textiles and Clothing in Business major a "few" decades ago, but I doubt this is even a selling strategy taught today.
This is an example of a bizarro pricing algorithm devised by some product logistician to serve a mysterious end--emphasis on mysterious.

Blankillow - a Throw Blanket in a Pillow
$46.00
Not Eligible for Returns or Exchanges

@Venezia wrote:@Kachina624 - I noticed this a couple of days ago. I think it's just yet another glitch in their computer system. I always check the prices of things I've bought for 30 days after. And I saw some Cuddl Duds that I paid $18.99 for, go up to the full price of $54.50.
As someone who worked in I.T. for 25 years (Analyst/programmer), it just always makes me think who the h*** do they have working for them.
Whenever I see something like this, I always remember that old tech adage: GIGO. "Garbage in, garbage out". And whenever I hear someone blaming the computer system (retail stores, businesses, etc.) I tell them, it's not the computer, it's the human behind it.
I'm sure some work with antiquated systems, but even they can be made to work correctly with attention to detail. JMHO.
But who knows? Maybe the Q's computers are self-programming!
@Venezia. Somebody reported it to Wayne, the mod. He checked on it and said it was not a glitch. He also said the "no returns" notice would be removed but it's still there.
Here's an example:
Last week I bought 2 Pairs of these pants @ $16.00/ea. They arrived today, brand new, not returns.
A couple days ago, the listing changed to what it is today:
Weird or what?

They had final sale items before, but not at higher prices. I'm going with - they want to keep the cr*p. Period.
@PINKdogWOOD wrote:@Kachina624 I'm going with - they don't want the c*ap back anymore either.

@On It wrote:@Kachina624 @cheriere A company's worth is increased with a higher level of inventory. There are situations where that is advantageous.
I'm with @On It on this one.
I found out one company I was working for was cooking the books so they could get loans after the wife passed away. There was one other person in the office that quit about this time.
When everything was sent to the accountant they couldn't figure out what was going on since the figures didn't match up? That's because I didn't change them like they did. I'm not doing anything illegal to save some company I'm working for.
They were not the only place I worked for doing illegal stuff?

@On It. So, if your theory is correct, imaybe they don't want customers to buy this selection of inventory so they kept the "no returns" sign up.
Yours is the first theory that sounds logical.

@Kachina624 - They can say it wasn't/isn't a glitch. Semantics.
So I'll just call it something else: incompetence.
Another thing that's always driven me crazy with QVC's website. They have what they call "Limited Quantity" items and I've stumbled across several over the years by sheer accident. But they will not come up in any kind of search.
I've tried every combination possible in the search bar; nothing.
So I reported this discrepancy through the mods, who said they would relay it to the "appropriate department". That was a few years ago and nothing has been done. (You'd think they'd want to sell this hidden merchandise.)
Believe me, it's not that hard to set up the parameters and code for a search like that. They just don't do it or don't know how.
And I don't see that changing in the near (or even distant) future.
(ETA: LOL! I see one of the Primetime Special items is a "Limited Quantiry Price"!) ![]()

@Venezia. Considering this pricing disaster and the incident last weekend, I am beginning to think they have a rogue employee intent on destroying the company.
