Re: What In The Heck Are They Doing???

I've purchased final sale, no returns from other online companies (reputable - where I've purchased many items before)  - normally the items are priced so low that it wouldn't be cost effective to returm them.  If they don't fit, I donate them.

Re: What In The Heck Are They Doing???

So about a month ago I ordered two bathing suits. One was a Kim Gravel "as is" and the other was a Jantzen. I got an email saying the KG was out of stock, but I received the Jantzen. Yesterday I saw the exact KG that I ordered for $13.00 back in stock for $75.00. Of course it wasn't as is. Today I saw the Jantzen that I paid $20.00 for at $108.00. I mean I'm glad I got it for $20.00 but WTF?

@cindyNC  I have accidentally returned items that were sold as "no return" and received credit for the item.

Re: What In The Heck Are They Doing???

@Kachina624 - And I don't care, if they do remove the "No Returns" or not.

I'm not paying $54.50 for something I just got for $18.99.  Not only that but, because I bought a second color, I got $5 off the second one.

I then found a third color in "As Is" for $14.74.  (That was what I ordered after they altered the terms of the free shipping on fashion flyer.  Even with the shipping it was a better deal.)

Let's face it - their system is just a mess.

They must be some method to this madness but I can't figure it out.

First They put a lot of clothing on clearance at ridiculously low prices with no returns permitted.

Then they suddenly returned the goods to ridiculously high prices, then went back and added that no returns would still be accepted on those items.

Who in their right mind would buy a garment they couldn't try and pay full price for it knowing it couldn't be returned or exchanged?

There must be some merchandising strategy to explain this.  Anybody have a clue what it might be?  Is it an accounting move of some sort?  Taxes?

What in the world are they thinking?

@Kachina624

Posted recently thinking that it could be a tax move but that doesn't make sense, the larger your inventory the more taxes you pay.

Then started thinking about valuation of a company.  If remaining inventory is adjusted to higher prices then the company value most likely increases.

Don't want to blow anything up as speculation but you get the drift.

Re: What In The Heck Are They Doing???

I don't know why the "No returns or exchanges" would be with the full priced items. However, most of the items mentioned with drastic price increases have been more spring/summer (swimwear, crop pants, the drip dye shirts) so it maybe does make sense those would come off of clearance and return to full price with the season change?

All craziness! I won't order any item that says no returns, no way, no how!
