@sunsetbeach I have to respectfully disagree. Although I checked my account and I did not return a single thing last year, the prior year I returned 3 items. When a person orders online one cannot feel the fabric, determine how it will wash, and most importantly you have no idea if shoes will still be comfortable for 10 hours on your feet while at work.
With all that said, I never did return shoes. I did receive a pair I thought were the most comfortable shoes then a few weeks later wore them to work. I ended up with blisters. Unfortunately, it was past the 30 day return so I sold them at a garage sale. But I have encouraged family that were very interested in Vionic to try them for that 30 days and see if they liked them. Vionic even says you need to break them in a little bit at a time. That policy is the only reason they made the purchase with QVC.
In addition, QVC's prices are extremely high. If a person does pay $75 for a top they should be allowed to see how it washes. I've read reviews where posters state an item shrunk 2". Why is it not fair for this person to return an item that shrunk 2" or that an apparel item fell apart after washing?
Also you state "because you truly have no idea about it unless you use it." Isn't this exactly what we are talking about? You don't know if shoes will be comfortable unless you wear them on concrete or hard flooring where you are on your feet all day. Walking around on your carpet is just not the same. You don't know if an item will shrink or not unless you wash and dry it.
Lastly, these returns are accounted for when businesses set prices. The majority of my purchases are made BECAUSE I know I can return, even though I rarely use this benefit, I like knowing it's there should I need it. But, I do believe it's a shame that there are people that have abused this policy, and that is shameful.
