I have been sent WORN and USED clothing/items that were not AS IS. I loved when a package arrived with a label for someone else! My label was simply thrown on top- My order was this person's return! The packaging was a mess and the item was literally tossed in the bag! Lovely QVC practices!

Yes, they do. That is what many of the "as is" items are. I have purchased several "as is" and they must have been ones that were used as a display or on a model, because they looked brand new! Have never sent an "as is" back, even though you have 30 days to return them for whatever reason.

And the "as is" items I have bought are usually at least 50% off the regular price.

I agree with @World Traveler .   I have ordered many As Is items and have been completely satisfied - shoes included.  Big savings and looking brand new.  So what if someone else "tried" the shoes on.

Trying shoes on and wearing them for the full 30 days before returning are two different things.  I've had this happen to me where the "as is" shoes were actually filthy from obvious wear.  Never made that mistake again.  As is works sometimes but you will eventually get an item that was not inspected or even rewrapped!   Ridiculous!

Well, brick and mortar stores dont let you return shoes you have worn for 30 days with scuffed soles and sweaty foot imprints on the footbed and then box them up and sell them to the next customer.

I've had the same experience with as is items. All have been nice and looked brand new.

I have never received shoes in the condition described in this post.  I've ordered many As Is shoes through the years and they've all been in pristine condition.   Same with purses.

@San Antonio Gal Oh, i havent either!! Personally I've had pretty good luck with "as is" merchandise. Last summer my mother got a pair of Clark's clogs with very scuffed and damaged soles and my best friend got a pair of Earth sandals last summer that had a very unpleasant footbed.

When you shop at a B&M store, you can SEE, TOUCH and SMELL the item before purchasing it.
