I know this policy has been in place for awhile but I just got hit with it for the first time and it really shocked me. I haven't shopped Q nearly as much so I haven't had the need to return many items. I do understand that the new fee structure for shipping can work in your favor for a lot of items. But when it doesn't - wow!
I now am wondering if that's why the quality and diversity of items offered now have suffered. I know that the retail industry has been upended by the takeover of internet shopping causing the closure of many brick and mortor stores. But Q isn't making this a very friendly place to shop!. With so many options now offering free shipping and returns, why on earth would we want to buy from here? I just think It's time to move on.

@stewmagoo wrote:Incredible....it cost me 12 dollars and change to recieve a Basso jacket and return it. Basically did not even try it on as it felt like rubbery plastic, the coat with turnkey closures. Boom...12 dollars to check it out, did not care for the material. This has got to stop, these charges are ridiculous. I am kind of fuming right now. Just had to vent. TC ladies and HAGD
So please tell ke who should pay to ship the items to you to try, decide you do hot ike and ship back to QVC?
You are the one who decided to place the order, and you re responsible for the shipping charges. If you do not pay them, they get passed along to all of the other QVC shoppers, and it is not our duty to underwrite your shopping.
Just curious if KYToby is the old PBJ (or something similar). That PB lady used to come out EVERY SINGLE TIME someone posted about shipping and argue til the day was done that no one TRULY offers free shipping, yada yada.

I called Customer Service about this several months ago and was told this new policy began in April. They should have let the QVC customers know about it before it was implemented. I only have 100.00 more to pay off on my QVC charge and then I'm done using it. Between the escalating prices of the clothing items and the cost of returns, I can find better deals out in the stores.

It's well known the Q makes money from their S&H. It's even been reported in their financials. They will not combine for the buyer's advantage. They ship in huge bulk and the lowest rate possible with 7-10 day delivery, which is almost unheard of today, which is just much more money made by them to the customer's disadvantage. If the customer is paying for it all, they should at least get the benefits from some of it.

This policy is the main reason I am reluctant to buy. Luckily my purchases lately have worked out but you are always taking an expensive risk. So I take most of my business elsewhere.
The other channel has free returns with their card, granted it's only 5 per year but it's better than nothing. I would rather have that on the Q than 4 easy pays etc.
I also have free Shop Runner membership through my Amex card so I look for sites with that. It is free shipping and free returns. I just found out I had that this year, I don't think Amex advertises it much.

I rarely order because of the costs of shipping both ways. It's usually only if I really really really need something and can't find it anywhere else. Most times, the same item can be found for less and with free shipping elsewhere.

My items are normally received in half that time.
