Update on System - October 18, 2023

I tried to place an order for two items. Thinking it was a glitch on my side I called. The rep told me about the system update and told me to call back in 15 minutes. That was an hour ago.

 

 

 I understand there is probably not a lot QVC can do to make it smooth for us when there is a system update, but if possible they should schedule it for a time when not too many customers are shopping (like 3 a.m. or so).  Smiley Frustrated

@beach-mom     I believe their IT department is in Poland.    Quite a time difference from where we are.

Why is QVC using an IT based in a foreign country when QVC is based in the US--no wonder IT is slow on problems. And we the shoppers pay for this kind of service?

Many companies have IT departments based abroad. Cost savings, good technology, reliable workforce & good performance…. Why not?

I tried to order some Christmas items this morning and have tried all day....using my PROMO CODE from the email rec'd after purchasing more than $200 in Sept.
THe system isn't accepting PROMO CODES!! It just says to try later.
At noon or so I contact QVC on FB and they gave me a number to call where a recording said they couldn't help anyone because they had system problems. So....I went back to FB and told the person who gave me the number that they can't help and she said "Yes, I know".
Good Lord. If you knew they couldn't help, why give me the number?  Yeah I know....to get rid of me.
It's now 5pm and it still won't accept PROMO CODES.

I didn't know this @Desertdi! That explains a lot. I gave up. I will try again.

Calling Akumin for the past week to set up appointments for blood work and an x-ray for my brother and guess what all systems are down. This is in Florida. These things happen.

@beach-mom,  when you suggested updates at 3 a.m. did you take the pacific coast, Alaska and Hawaii into consideration?

 

3 a.m. EDT=midnight pacific, 11 p.m. the previous day Alaska and only 9 p.m. the previous day in Hawaii.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

@Marp - No I didn't. I should have thought about other time zones.
