I got one to beat all. I just checked on my order for a set of Tarte Lipsticks I ordered on the 17th and got shipped out on the 2Oth. I checked the tracking number and said it was delivered on November 8 in Mass. I live in WI. I called CS here and the Rep. told me that they used an old tracking number that hadn't cleared out of the system yet. I am to give it a day or 2. WOW this is a new one for me. In all the years I have shopped I never was givien a "used" tracking number! Good grief-

I beleive your package may have been ahipped by UPS not USPS because it is not uncommon for them to use an old 1Z #. When that happens it will shownthe tracking of the old package not yours until it is picked up by the shipper and checked in.  THat first tracking is when the label is created.  tomorrow it will show the correct tracking.  At least that is what happened to me about two years ago.

BTW i do not have the probelms with UPS that some of you do either.  Love my home carrier and the one that delivers to my work.

@Shawnie

The lipsticks showed up on the 23rd by USPS. Go figure..

The USPS never used to reuse tracking numbers, but that was an old UPS trick -- I track every package (I used to do it at the UPS site before the Q's site updated their software, because they were always several days behind the actual UPS tracking) and I'd constantly get tracking numbers that were a year old, showing delivery to a different part of the country.

The problem is Mail Innovations. It starts out with either UPS or Fedex and then is transferred to the USPS -- that inserts extra steps and delays into the process. If they stuck with one shipper the packages would arrive a lot faster than they do now.

And I don't care  whether it's UPS or USPS -- both have their pros and cons. UPS arrives earlier in the day and will ring our doorbell, but only delivers 5 days a week; USPS delivers six days a week, but we have several contract carriers -- not regular USPS employees -- who deliver at all hours between noon and 6pm, which is why I keep the tracking page open and frequently refresh it to see if I have to walk down to the mailbox -- and they'll just leave packages at our door without knocking or ringing the bell.

I haven't had any of these problems with any of them. I ordered a makeup mirror from bestbuy on thanksgiving day. It was shipped USPS and I had it Monday. Even with the holidays and weekend. The tracking was funny because it bypassed my city twice but I still got it quick.
