I thought that QVC had a dedicated channel specifically for beauty items (Beauty IQ).  If so, why am I seeing so many beauty items on the QVC live channel?

Because Beauty IQ is not offer on all cable, satetilite or broadcast channels and it was meant to be the sole venue for beauty products.

I’m guessing because not everyone gets the beauty channel.

I agree with you........as others have said not everyone gets the Beauty Channel (we don't in our area)....BUT i have found lately that i think they are putting alot more beauty shows and presentations back on QVC...seems more then it has been when they first established the Beauty Channel..............The last few weeks there have been alot of beauty TSV's also (and gadgets)....was just wondering if the Beauty Channel isn't doing that well on its own......wonder if it will stay in business.............I think between beauty items, gadgets, and shoes they could have just one channel for them!....those shows are on constantly.....they must be the big moneymakers......

Also, I believe that Beauty IQ was designed to be sort of like those YouTube videos, in that the presentations are more like a “teaching” experience on how to use the products being presented.  It has a different vibe than how beauty products are shown on the QVC Live channel.

Add to that most of the programming on the Beauty channel is taped, much of that from the main channel anyway.  (Both Beauty IQ and QVC2 have a lot of taped programming that originated on QVC Live.)

And then, there are probably a lot of people out there like me, that typically just continue to mainly watch the QVC Live channel.  For me, it’s mostly out of habit, but also because of so many pre-taped shows on the other channels and the fact that both of the other channels are not in HD, which makes watching them uncomfortable for me.  But mostly I don’t watch the Beauty channel because I’m just not that interested in all that beauty stuff.

In addition, the only live presentations are during the week - evenings only.  Not so much in terms of coverage I don't think.  The rest of the schedule are rerun videos from the various lines that play over and over.
