“The server stopped responding”…..

QVC online is the ONLY site that keeps shutting down on me!  After 20-30 minutes the screen freezes and tells me  it's "off".  I can meander on Ancestry or Amazon and those sites DO NOT freeze on me.  Is this chat so crowded or is the server competing with the sales sites?

@CaliGold67 I haven't had any problems. It hasn't stopped responding nor has it been slow. I'm on my laptop using Chrome. No issues.

Re: “The server stopped responding”…..

@CaliGold67 @cjm61   I use a MacBook (laptop) and I had trouble usiing Safari browser today (my preferred) and switched to Firefox to continue to read/participate/and purchase here, successfully, online.

QVC website really doesn't "like" or interface well with Safari, moreso when there is increased volume--i.e., free shipping.

Hope this helps.

@CaliGold67.  Nobody else has complained of such a problem.  You may have too many websites open that need to be closed.

Thanks but that's not the case.

Thanks - I use Safari and never does another site crash on me!  I'm not familiar with Firefox. I simply compare experiences using the same factors. The Q should improve their technology and connections IMO.  Many other functions are clunky too.  Guess I'm spoiled by other online retailers. A.

Sometime how old a device you use can make a difference. Sometimes if your device is not up to the current updates it can make a difference. Some devices are too old for current updates.

I use Safari exclusively and don't seem to have the problems others mention.

@CaliGold67   I have used Safari for maybe 20 years and have not had this problem.  I don't use other browser or extensions.  Since the new mac chips were introduced the last few years, I do crash Safari if I have too many windows open -- I usually get a computer warning that I am running out of application memory and should shut down some applications, and if I don't, the computer freezes and reboots on its own, and reopens everything I had open before and more.   But that is not with the QVC website and this does not sound like your issue.

My best suggestion is to make sure your operating system is up to date, and check your computer settings, because mine seem compatible with the QVC website,  The only problems I was having was with reviews and questions, but these issues actually have gone away.  So I have no problems with the Q website at this time, haven't had any in a while.  I visit the website most days, the forums about twice a week.

And I have been shopping on free shipping, today and I think last weekened, and the one before that.  The only glitches are that my saved items sometimes disappear, and that is where I am shopping from.  I just close the window and open another one with the shopping cart until the saved items show up again, which always happens.

Thank you for writing this @NYCLatinaMe .

I've written here a few times that different websites and devices update at different frequencies.  If a website updates and one's device doesn't have the latest update, they will be incompatible for certain functions.

This can work the other way too--device updates and websites take a little longer to match up.

Having said that, I use my iPad Air and have never, ever had an issue on QVC's website or app.

Re: “The server stopped responding”…..

I haven't had that particular problem, but I will say that I often have weird things happen on the QVC website that never happen on any others.
