@mima

"You have to have a free Amazon account to set up the Echo.  You do not have to purchase the Prime features."

"You can do it from your computer."

That is very important info which is NEVER mentioned by the vendor.  If it has, I've never heard it.

Much appreciated....

I just ordered my second one.  I love it.  I have one in kitchen and new one is going in my bedroom.  I also have the tap which I will put in the back bedroom.   This stupid thing does  a lot more the what they even showed in the presentation.

I ordered mine at midnight and it has already been shipped.

Perhaps you can help me.  I am interested in a second unit.  I am older and would like to take advantage of the Find my Buddy issue.  I could use it if I can put in another unit.  Would they interfere with each other? I have WiFi throughout the house. I'm not really very savvy with electronics, but would probably usse them for different things. Can you make any suggestions. They never mention this on t.v.

I actually have a second question. Everything I ask Alexa goes onto my cell phone and no one here seems to know how to get rid of all the "fluff" on my phone. So do you know how to do this?

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

@Perkup  They do not interfere with each other.  They work alone.  You can play one song in the kitchen and a different one in the bedroom.  However if you add things to your shopping list, entries from both units go to the same list.  The find my buddy would work if you were near your #1 echo or your #2 echo.

As far as removing the fluff on your phone, I don't know what fluff you are talking about.  Can you be more specific?

Yes.  When I say Good Morning to Alexa, that goes on my phone.  If she answers, the words go on my phone. (an Iphone 6).  The shopping list goes

on my phone, of course, but I can delete those things when I shop.Same with the To Do list, easy to delete. But then there are so many things - pages and pages - that I can't seem to delete. All the conversations, etc. It is so much "stuff" that should never be on the phone. What to do?

@ValuSkr  Does a lot more then a smartphone.  It also is hands free which is great.  It also is a blue tooth speaker, which means you can play your music from an iphone.  The speaker is great quality also.

@Perkup  I Know what your talking about but I am not sure you can get rid of it.  I know every question or anything you do is on your phone or app.  I will play with it and see if there is a way.  I love all this electronic stuff.

Re: THE ECHO......

[ Edited ]

My husband just told me that it can play music and turn on and off the lights. I asked if this would have to be hooked up to the lights and he said "Yes". I am just wondering if I can hook it up to the Dysan Vacuum, cabinet with cleaners and rags to clean the house. That's what I would call a great holiday gift.

@Havarti  It shuts off unless it hears her name.  If your worried about your privacy then being online is just as dangerous.

We are trying to decide between the Echo and Google Home.  Does anyone have Google Home?

Me!

We've had one since July and use it everyday!  My husband loves it and uses it for listening to music since the sound is so good!  It's also nice for setting timers, getting the weather, traffic info plus a million other things!

I love it so much I ordered another two as a TSV...one for my brother in law & one for my brother...both who have done a lot for us this past year.
