Re: *** Suggestions and concerns about the moderation of QVC Community forums ***

The only change I think needs to be made is by posters.

My recommendations -

Be nice.

Be patient.

Share information.

Know that one person's way is not the only correct way.

I am newly registered. Wish I could have taken that survey. Thanks for the link. I would also like to see a list of banned words.

Re: *** Suggestions and concerns about the moderation of QVC Community forums ***

dooBdoo, I am in the process of collecting my thoughts after having read the Standards for Participation and the Community Updates links that you provided. I am going to write them in Word, copy and paste them here. I just wanted you to know. Thank you for starting what I believe to be an important discussion. I hope there will be many participants, the more the better.

It might be a good idea to post in Viewpoints that this conversation is beginning in the Q We Love Forum, because I, for one, never come here. And I don't believe Viewpoints posts are included in the View All Categories forum. I may be wrong there, I'll take a look.

You'll see me later. Smile

In numerous threads across the forums, posters are reporting their concerns about the moderation of the community and the application of the Standards for Participation. Some are uneasy about the potential changes announced after the recent survey, while others welcome a change.

Um? Huh? Where are you reading these "numerous threads across forums"??

Links, please.

Also, why are you posting this? Just wondering…{#emotions_dlg.huh} Considering they have moderators. Are you a moderator or applying? {#emotions_dlg.blink}

It's their forum, their rules!

I may have missed it, but I did not see this addressed ......... I don't think once a person has been banned, that they should be able to come back in a 101 different names .......... what's the purpose of banning them!{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Hi, ical!

Here's the thread that prompted this one. There have been others, but I don't keep track of them.

Deleting all opinions QVC.... Why?

I'm sorry if you're unhappy with this thread, but it's not against the standards and I was hoping it would be helpful. As you know, any of us are allowed to post threads and comments, and I think that's a good thing. I seldom start new threads, gave it careful thought before launching this one, and I'm guessing those uninterested will pass it by.

Thanks for you post.Smile

Great comments, everyone! I don't start threads often, so this is a rarity. My thanks to all of you for taking the time to express your thoughts.

dooBdoo, you have the patience of a saint. You seem to have a way with words, too. Sometimes when I try to explain things to some on here, they just take it the wrong way and twist my words. Hope your thread gets to stay. Smile

Re: *** Suggestions and concerns about the moderation of QVC Community forums ***

These are extremely pleasant boards, I must say. Years ago, it was like going into a dog fight wearing a steak around your neck.

Currently, IF the moderators or the board(s) administrator(s) read(s) this, I give them all an A+.

If users don't read the terms and conditions they agreed to in order to use the boards, well, then what did they agree to? Read them again, easy, very easy, compared to other websites.

OR maybe it's a matter of this, lol!

It is their website (their being QVC). They have the right to delete anything they choose. No one's writing War & Peace here, so what is the big deal? This is not a child's website. If some posters go over the line, then they are lucky they are not banned, imo,
