Even low income get free phones.

@Nightowlz  In my neck of the woods, not every town and/or city had the $$$$$ to purchase computers for schools.  Comcast did provide "some" computers & did lower internet cost ($10/month) for families who did not have internet.

As for those free phones, you must not know you do not need the internet for "flip" phones and/or non smart phones

Also, you do not need to be "low income"  to get a free phone or discounted/free internet.  Depends on the programs in your State, Counties, Cities, etc.

$10 discount isn't enough when your not working with no income? More should have been done.

I know you don't need interent with your phone but you can get online with it. I use my phone for texting.

I just know my sister has a free phone from the government due to her low income. Why would they give others a free phone?

We don't see all the violence or homeless on the street like they show on TV? I have never been around these things. Only know what I have seen on TV.

@Nightowlz --I am a shredding fool --I shred everything as soon as possible----have saved just enough paperwork--in case--but even then--you can get your tax info online too.

Am wondering why anyone would want paper statements anymore. You can access all that online now.

I pay all my CC online, but I do prefer paper statements. Capital One still sends paper with no cost to me.  The other two CC's charge and I don't receive a paper bill.

My reasoning....If I am sick or hurt or unable to sign on to my accounts to pay my bills, my husband would have no idea my bills were unpaid.

My credit standing would take a nose dive. He wouldn't know my bills weren't paid until late payment statements were sent.

There are advantages and disadvantages of not receiving a bill each month.

Just an added note: I opened a Q card account a few months ago.  A couple of days after making my first purchase which was a sweater on easy pay, I received a call from Synchony Bank questioning whether the very first easy payment of $12.50, was made by me. They weren't going to put through the charge.  I was so mad I switched the payments to my debt card and closed the QVC account. I have never had a company question the very first purchase on a card---let alone a charge for such a small amount. Now wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with their Q card.

@DesertD

I've had a QCard for years, so no, I've never had that happen to me.

But often a hacker will charge a small insignificant sum to see if it will go through before they rack up large charges.  In today's environment, I don't think that's unreasonable for the company to contact you since that was your first charge.

Years ago we purchased two TVs at two separate Walmart stores near us on the same day.  We used our WM credit card, which at the time, I think was issued by Synchrony.  We were contacted to see if we had made those purchases before they would approve them.  When I thought about it, it made sense, since that could very well be something a credit card thief would do.

Unfortunately, a sign of the times.

@DesertD They just wanted to make sure it was made by you and not someone else.   I like when I get notices from my cc company being cautious that it was me.

@Pecky @DesertD  -  I also like when credit card companies watch over my account and question charges.  Makes me feel secure.  I would have never gotten mad and close the card.

I've had my Q card for awhile now.  I use it for Easy Pays and pay the bill in full each month.

It’s just crazy to have to pay $1.99 to send THEM payments! Along with their almost 36% interest; it’s ridiculous! After being with QVC since they were CVN- I closed my QCard. Prices on items are getting really high, as well…..gone are their basic statements of “Quality, Value, & Convenience.” Such a shame….To those of you paying online; many others don’t have that convenience. ( I do, but chose to end my years long business with QVC.) Good luck to those who continue with them….
