Further to another post about deleted threads, I suggest that QVC immediately delete the entire thread when it's clearly spam like the ones that are taking up most of the front page here today. Leaving the thread up, just continues to advertise the spam. Thanks!

Good point!

agree
I would like all the deleted threads just to be deleted completely no need for them to be left saying they have been "removed"

I assume it's up to how the moderator decides to deal with it - different strokes, etc - but I see no reason not to totally disappear threads like the Amazon one.

I seem to recall that when QVC revamped its forums, many posters requested that deleted topics be left visible so people could see why they had been deleted (hence the moved messages). I think this was an attempt to reduce the number of people starting new threads because they could no longer see the deleted ones.
While this may have been good, in theory, we still see new threads opened asking why their threads were closed/deleted, and we still see the spam threads.
I tend to agree with those that think those threads which are clearly spam be totally deleted. I also think thread topics which are clear violations of board guidelines should be ompletely deleted. Furthermore, I think those that post either types of threads should have their IPs blocked from posting, at least temporarily, for board disruption.

Generally speaking, I just don't like the idea of have threads disappeared. I just don't like it.
However, if some vendor is clearly adding their commercial spam to the QVC forums then I think QVC should be taking steps to discourage them.
Completely deleting these commercial spam posts would be a good start.
To rephrase a well known Supreme Court quote...
What is commercial spam? You just know it when you see it.

And I think you all take management of these boards a little too seriously...

Why not just ignore the spam or posts you don't like or aren't interested in?
Why should big brother have to swoop in?
I see a lot of requests in these forums for moderators to do this, do that, and most sound like "Moooooom, he's touching me!"

@CalminHeart, because on certain threads, it sometimes gets a bit out of hand. On the beauty forum, you'll sometimes see 5-6 very obvious commercial examples of spam per page. -- That's 20% of the threads which I think is a bit excessive.
