I think this is really poor salesmanship and it's becoming very prevalent with the hosts!! I've been with QVC since 1987 and for many, many years they 'might' innocently mention other retailers, but they wouldn't bash them or speak harshly about them. I find that's not true anymore. I think Rick was actually the very first one I noticed that spoke ugly about other retailers in the world, but knowing what a sarcastic snot he can be, I didn't think much about it. Then Shawnee Sue would say things and make it sound like anyone that shops anyplace other than QVC is a stupid idiot.....then she started getting worse by making it sound like unless you made your purchase at QVC, you've most likely purchased absolute junk!!!! Knowing Shawn can also be a smart alec like Rick, I'd try to take her comments with a grain of salt. Now for about the past 8 months or so, I've noticed Dan Hughes is doing the same thing....he tells us, "Sure you can buy this at your big box stores...but you'll be buying it again next year because the one you bought was junk"! I've always liked Dan and seeing him start to chime in on this sales tactic is very disappointing!! Come on QVC...you never used to tolerate this kind of stuff from the hosts...we could always count on them being and speaking very professional.....selling plenty of stuff by just being nice and knowledgable about the product! To me there's a difference between being 'competative' and downright mean and ugly!!! It's our right to buy things from anyone or anyplace we want without being insulted by your show hosts for doing it!!!! NOT the same old QVC it used to be!!!
