I generally speaking agree with these comments but have to say not all Q clothing is manufactured in China. I have purchased a few very nice clothing pieces that were manufactured in Vietnam. Not saying size discrepancies can’t also happen there but I have not yet experienced it. I do believe some of Women With Control clothing is manufactured in Korea, Renee has posted photos of her travels to Korea on Instagram from time to time. Of course, she could just be purchasing fabric that is then shipped to China.

The sizing discrepancy issue is one of the reasons I have become very cautious about what I order. Too expensive to return. What a disaster the recent Breezies TSV turned out to be for me in terms of sizing, very expensive mistake for me because I foolishly ordered three sets.

Once a while back a sales person in a dept. store  told me that the reason for a different fit in the exact size, same pant is manufacturers have different patterns for color.  For instance, a size 8 in red and a size 8 in blue.  So the 2 patterns could very enough to make for a different fit.  Another person told me that they will cut a size 8 pattern with 3 slightly different fits because not every size 8 is shaped exactly the same.   Some might be slightly bigger or smaller in waist and hips.

Don't know how true it is, however!Woman Wink

This same size, different colors, different fit happens everywhere now.  I purchase most of my clothing from Talbots and its happened there.  I was told different color fabrics can effect the fit.  Sounds crazy but yes, it has happened to me.  QVC is no different that is why I only order clothing if I am willing to accept the fact that I may be returning and paying for shipping both ways.  For that reason, I rarely order clothing from Q anymore.  I order from Talbots where I can return to the store with no charge, or I buy in person where I can try on.

I'll tell you how this "fit situation" happens.

Now I am not in a position to say this happened in YOUR case, but it does happen often.

Companies (like QVC) and many other companies put in an order for a specific style of clothes.

One of several things can happen.  The company they ordered from (every single thing....clothes, toys, medicine, etc) comes from China....but they're different companies.

Maybe QVC ordered .... say, 5,000 boot cut jeans (style number 000) from one Chinese company.  But then they decide to order more...this time another color.  What?! Can't get them from the same company?

What?!  Have to get them from another company!  Each company has a tiny variance on sizes.

That's just one thing that happens.

I've had it happened a lot of times.  I always try on every piece of clothes.  Even when I order the same thing at the same time but different colors.

Sometimes they all fit, often one or two might fit but the third....too big or too small.  See, different manufacturer.

My friend tells me it happens at brick and mortar stores too.  I don't know because I haven't shopped in one for maybe 3 or more years.

You would often find the fit problem if you decided to go back and get another one.  Many times they don't fit the same (i.e. different manufacturer).

I'll bet others have noticed the same thing.  I know I have quite frequently.

To sum it up...Honey!  It's not you, it's QVC and their various manufacturers.

Re: Size issues

[ Edited ]

I can understand that perhaps the different colors of fabric might cause a variance in sizing....but I find it inexcusable for ANY company not to have consistent sizing when its the same fabric, same manufacturer....that ridiculous!!!! I never experienced this problem in the past.....And its either changing manufacturers as @Annabellethecat66  said, OR  just carelessness, OR companies care more about profits and have stopped caring about quality control ......

And if you order two of the same size, same fabric and color and the sizing is off---that SHOULD be considered DEFECTIVE!

I have learned a lot from all of you! Thanks for responding. I think the 2 that were smaller I I will have to try to exchange for the next size up! Thankfully I do sew. You can always make them a little smaller.

@Spurt

buying clothes anywhere I find the same issues...especially in the xl-1x sizing.

we have a  Beall's I cant buy there unless I try on every thing.  I used to be able to just take size "off the rack" and fit ...my friends have found the same and they wear misses sizes.

Their "plus" sizes are so off I have to go up a size just to get past my thighs/butt & sometimes they don't fit😳🙄 yet I go to Nordstrom's, Talbots and buy my normal size -- no problems🤷‍♀️

@homedecor1

It sounds like the clothing business has changed a lot over the years.....

I guess it depends on the clothing manufacturer and now the sizing can be off----BUT if you buy 2 pairs of jeans, in the same brand, in the same size, at the same store in the same fabric ----I expect them to fit the same.......maybe I'm fussy that way...😄

I've gone to Dillards and Stein Mart and havent had sizing problems....their clothing lines are consistent....go figure...

I agree. If I didn't have such a hard time finding tall pants I wouldn't bother. I have found too many size problems. I hope I won't be charged a return fee if I try to exchange & they are out of my size. I cancelled all waitlist orders.
