I think UPS should have kept delivering on Christmas Day instead giving the drivers the whole day off. They knew they had a back log and if they even just did 1/2 day it would have made a lot of difference to many people. We have ""volunteer"" mail men on Christmas Day where I live. They deliver any packages that are sitting in our local post office Christmas morning.

How nice of you to volunteer drivers to work on x-mas day! They had nothing to do with making the promise of delivery so why should they be stuck working?

QVC took your money and guaranteed delivery so they need to refund your money. It's not UPS or the postal service fault.

QVC is a retailer, not a delivery service. If they had the packages into the hands of the delivery service, how is it not the fault of the delivery service, if they overestimated their capabilities, this year, and couldn't get the job done?

If UPS delivers something sold to you, by QVC, and you think it's junk, youi don't blame UPS as the delivery service do you, for the poor quality item? Wouldn't you blame QVC for selling it?

So, If UPS's job, is to deliver the items, how is it QVC's fault if they did their part, but, UPS had problems?

That being said, I think the very late shoppers, also need to accept some responsibility. However valid the reasons might have been for shopping late, and I have been in the spot, where the last paycheck does the shopping, the reality is that the late shoppers were part of the problem, guarantees or no.

QVC is the one that made the promise. This happens every single year with retailers. It has nothing to do with delivery services overestimating their capabilities. They make a delivery promise and then it's not met.

Just like consumers should realize once the package leaves Q's hands it's out of their control, QVC should realize the same thing and quit making promises they can't keep.

I thought only postal service employees were allowed to touch mail/packages once they were posted for delivery? You learn something new every day.
